[In an empty room in one of Camp's many buildings, Yuri Petrov sits at an empty table, a cup of tea and a folder in front of him. There are numerous chairs at the opposite side of the table, positioned so that the ones seated will all be facing him. The chairs all look extremely uncomfortable.]

Thank you for coming here today. As I'm certain you are aware of by now, there are some important matters that I need to speak with you about.

But it seems a little odd that Hisoka's trying to lure Lunatic out by killing Mr. Petrov to get us to look for Lunatic ourselves?

... and if that was the case, he'd have asked us to look for him.

Ah, I did not mean that Hisoka planned to use us to find Lunatic for him, but rather that he planned to use us to give Lunatic incentive to emerge again. He would be greatly overestimating Lunatic's association with us if he thought that, but...it is only a theory.

As to why he would go through me, it may be that he's learned about Lunatic's dislike for the Heroes, and thought that targeting a civilian from his home world would be more effective.

I don't see how us Heroes would be able to lure Lunatic out any better than he can.

I mean, if you consider Lunatic's profile, he only appears to kill criminals. he has no reason to assault innocent victims, or appear in front of the heroes with little to gain. I don't think Lunatic actually dislikes... us to that extent.

Yet if the Heroes had reason to be hostile to someone, Lunatic may appear before them. It is unknown how much he knows about Camp, and without a list of who can be classified as a criminal here, he could be sticking to familiar territory until he has obtained that information. Then again, considering the amount of time that has passed, it may be possible that he has a list already.

But I digress. You are correct, Mr. Brooks, in that my theories do not completely line up with what we know of Lunatic's profile. However, we should keep in mind that Hisoka may not know what we do about Lunatic.

I believe Lunatic would have already known about the 'dying is not permanent' part of camp. Which makes his moves the most unpredictable.

We do know, however, that he has had entanglements with Hisoka. And they may or may not have had the opportunity to kill each other.

But the issue moreso at hand here is your entanglements with Hisoka, and of course... his statements. If it is true that he is targetting you to lure out Lunatic, then we shouldn't we see an escalation of deaths? He seems the type who would go about and kill half the population of camp to get what he wants.

That is a good point. He certainly has no qualms about killing anyone, so the lack of rampant death in Camp is alarming. If he is not doing all this to lure Lunatic out, but rather because he thinks that I am Lunatic...

To be honest, I can't blame him. I've never stopped to consider my own position in all this before now, but I would be suspicious of myself as well. I certainly do qualify for some of the characteristics of his profile. The only question then would be why Hisoka has thought this for so long. I would assume that someone like him would be able to tell if I were Lunatic or not after one encounter.

Then that makes his actions even odder.

Don't you think he would then be able to determine Lunatic's identity through the same means?

Only if he ran into Lunatic in his civilian guise.

I think Hisoka's actions make more sense if you are, yes.

It does not surprise me that you have come to this conclusion. You have always been one of the more capable Heroes, if not the most capable. Logically, going by what has happened and who is in Camp, your conclusion that I am Lunatic would be the most plausible explanation for everything.

[giving you a look, waiting to see if you'll say anything further]

I cannot stop you from thinking what you think, especially if it makes sense. However, I am not Lunatic.

[It is pretty obvious that this is a lie. Will Barnaby call him out on this? Or will he remain quiet and play along with this farce? Where does your justice lead you, Barnaby Brooks Jr?]

Just to clarify things, can you reiterate your... theory again?

Of course. Which one would you like to hear again? Or do you wish to hear all of them again?

Just why you think Hisoka has been hunting you.

I'll keep it brief. The first is that it could be he truly thinks that I am Lunatic—as we have discussed, this is unlikely because he should be able to ascertain that I am not Lunatic after having met me.

The second is that he hopes to lure Lunatic out by creating an injustice, so to speak, by falsely accusing me of being him. This plan would be complicated and unwieldy, and has too many inconsistencies.

The final theory is that he hopes to stir up trouble between us by making it seem that I am Lunatic, thus creating tension while Lunatic still is a threat. The problem with this theory is the question of why Hisoka would be motivated to do this.

So you mean to say that of your three theories, the latter two being needlessly complicated, the only thing that dismisses your first theory is because he can ascertain that you aren't Lunatic?

But that is the very thing he claims you to be.
